You are currently viewing Lecture: The Hippie and Post-Hippie Colony at Rosh Pinna – The First Alternative Community in Israel

This lecture, for the general public, addressed the story of the hippies at Old Rosh Pinna, the history of the community they’ve created, and their influence on the character of the whole settlement till this day.
The lecture took place in the framework of “Heritage Discourse – a series of meetings on Zionism and current affairs, celebrating Rosh Pinna’s 140 years”, at the reconstruction site of Old Rosh Pinna, on November 17th, 2022. It opened the meeting series, and indicated the significant change of the heritage discourse of the reconstruction association, partly thanks to our research project on Rosh Pinna. See links below – to the academic study’s outcomes on the subject.
On the virtual exhibition “Dreams in the Upper Street” one can find more pictures, films, and documents of this community – here.
